Volunteer firefighters use green flashing lights to respond to an emergency. If you see one behind you, you should yield the right of way and allow them to pass you if it's safe to do so. The green light is a courtesy and doesn't grant the driver any special privileges on the road (eg. going through red lights or stop signs). Every second counts and they could be going to help a loved one, move over.
